Editorial standards

• Accuracy first: every specification comes from the maker's or seller's published information.
• Capacity, efficiency and low-temperature heating figures are the maker's own; calculators show their assumptions.
• Refrigerant work, electrical connections and permits are flagged as jobs for a licensed installer where the maker or code requires it.
• We don't promise rebates or tax credits; the federal 25C credit ended for systems installed after 2025.
• Discontinued products are removed or clearly labelled, never recommended.
• Commissions never decide which products we cover or how we rank them.
